Sustainable School

John Paul College has been accredited as a Sustainable School.

We have developed a range of areas in which we have become more sustainable.

John Paul College has completed the Core Module for Sustainable Schools and we continued to focus on biodiversity as well as joining the energy and water programs. Our aims are to develop our energy and water programs in more detail.

According to the AuSSi regulations, John Paul College has achieved 3 stars needed to be qualified as an Australian Sustainable School.

We are also an active member of the the Planet Savers program which aims to reduce energy consumption in the school. This involved conducting a school energy audit to see exactly where all the energy is being consumed on the site. We are also involved in the Water Learn it Live it scheme from South East Water. This involves a curriculum shift to incorporate water studies and conservation methods at several levels in the school.
