On Thursday 12th March, John Paul College took part in the annual Mission Action Day (MAD).
MAD challenges all students to carry on the Church's mission of service (especially to the marginalised of our society). The day is student-led with the VCAL students and the Year 12 Leadership team taking charge of the event. These students worked tirelessly in taking on roles of planning and implementing a variety of stalls and activities, with profits going towards the four House charities.
Activities and games that were organised by students on the day included: Bubble Soccer, Archery Wars, 'Subway' Sandwich Station, Sausage Sizzle, Throw a sponge at a teacher, Brownies/Cupcakes, Pool Noodle Gladiator, Donuts, Nachos, Slushies’, Hot Chips, Lolly land, Plant Stall, Coffee Club, Fishing for Ducks, Finska, Nerf Target, Pancakes, Arancini, Ice Cream Mix ins, and much more.
We were blessed with a vibrant day filled with sunshine that matched the spirit and energy of our community. The highlight of the afternoon was the annual House Music Competition where students in their House groups participated in a musical act to this year’s theme, 'Boy Bands and Girl Groups'. Chaminade was named the champions with their performance of 'I Want It That Way'.
We thank all who brought this day to fruition and to all in our community who approached this day with a generosity of spirit and a willingness to help others.
